Abt SRBI Inc. conducts surveys of consumer attitudes toward specific products or brands. We pledge never to use attitudinal research as a means to try to sell a product or service to consumers. We will not intentionally abuse public confidence in marketing and opinion research by using information that identifies respondents without their expressed permission (except to those who check the data or are involved in processing the data). In addition, we will obtain and document the consent of respondents when it is known that their name and addresses or other identifying information may be passed to a third party for legal or other purposes.
We also respect the respondent’s right to withdraw or refuse to cooperate at any stage of the study, and will not attempt to coerce or imply that cooperation is obligatory. We respect the rights of respondents to refuse to participate in research when there is a possibility that they may be identifiable, even without the use of names or addresses.
We make interviewers aware of special conditions that may be applicable to any minor, 18 years old or younger. In addition, we will obtain permission and document consent of a parent, legal guardian or responsible guardian before interviewing children 12 years old or younger.
